My name is Jeff and I wanted to talk about a new edition to my family. As you know from my first post I lost one of my babies her name was Clover. She will always be in my heart.

I’m a Veteran and I was diagnosed with PTSD and I have some mobility issues due to my military service.  Through some Veterans I know I was given a service dog and I named her Storm.  She is a Black Labrador Retriever.  When we first met we bonded immediately and everyone in the room said “That’s his dog”. I won’t get her for another 6-12 months. I’m excited and can’t wait.

In addition to that I will need to be trained on the words and commands I use around Storm. For instance “No” is out of the question. I have to substitute it with a a phrase like “unh-unh”. I went to the bathroom and Storm followed me into the bathroom and I told her “No”. I was quickly corrected by Jeremie, Storm’s trainer told me that she’s my service dog and she goes everywhere I go. So, I have a lot to learn going forward.
